9 Meetings. 20 Days. Completely hands off.

How Limelight built BidWERX a pipeline motion that runs without them — while most of their industry still builds pipeline by hand, one event and one intro at a time.

A strong product with no way to reach the market

BidWERX is a federal proposal intelligence platform. It helps teams find, evaluate, and win federal contracts and grants — scoring opportunities for fit before you commit, pulling apart requirements, and reviewing responses against what evaluators actually look for. Their own pitch says it best: stop spending weeks on bids you were never going to win. For teams chasing non-dilutive federal funding, that's weeks of work and real money on the line.

The product was strong and the expertise was deep. What they didn't have was a way to reach the market. There was no real marketing channel at all. They'd tried ads. They leaned on their network. Both produced conversations, but neither produced a system — nothing they could turn up, turn down, or count on.

That's a specific kind of stuck. It isn't a product problem or a credibility problem — it's the absence of any repeatable way to put the product in front of the people who need it. Every month started from zero and depended on who happened to be in the room.

Go straight at the proposal teams

Infrastructure built from the ground up

As with every Limelight engagement, we architected the full cold email sending infrastructure — dedicated domains, DNS authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and a network of warmed sending inboxes engineered for inbox placement and long-term deliverability. Built to land in primary inboxes, not spam folders.

Precision on the actual buyer

BidWERX doesn't sell to everyone chasing federal money — it sells to the people who own the bid. We built the targeting around federal proposal teams: the operators deciding which opportunities to pursue and doing the work of submitting. Narrow beats broad. A message that lands with the person who feels the pain converts; the same message to an adjacent title doesn't.

Message-market fit through structured testing

We developed and tested multiple offer angles and copy variants, running structured experiments to find which framing cut through. Once winners emerged, we concentrated volume behind them and kept layering in new variants to push performance further.

A motion, not a moment

The goal was never a burst of meetings — it was a channel BidWERX could rely on. Warmed infrastructure, proven targeting, and tested messaging mean the volume dial goes up without torching deliverability. The first 20 days are the floor, not the ceiling.

A channel where there wasn't one

9 meetings booked in the first 20 days

Within the first 20 days of campaigns going live, nine federal proposal teams booked time with BidWERX. Not referrals. Not network. Not ads. Pure outbound, from a standing start, into a market they'd never systematically reached before.

~0 hours a week from their team

This is the part that matters more than the number. Most teams in the federal space build pipeline by hand — prospecting manually, working conferences, tapping the same network over and over. It's a job. BidWERX doesn't do any of it. Limelight runs the entire motion end to end: infrastructure, targeting, copy, testing, follow-up. Their team spends effectively no time on outbound. Qualified calls just land on the calendar.

Ads couldn't do it. Network couldn't scale it.

BidWERX had already tried the obvious routes. Ads didn't convert into a pipeline they could count on, and a network is finite by definition — it doesn't grow on command. Outbound was the first channel that reached the right buyers repeatably, without anyone on their side working it.

Built to scale, not to spike

Nine meetings in 20 days came off warmed infrastructure and messaging that's still being optimized. The foundation is deliberately built to take more volume — the constraint now is how fast BidWERX wants to grow, not whether the channel works.

Turning meetings into a machine

The first 20 days proved the channel exists. The next phase is scaling volume against the proven targeting, testing new offer angles, and pushing the reply-to-meeting rate up as domains continue to warm and copy sharpens.

The bigger opportunity is downstream. Outbound has removed the pipeline constraint — meetings now arrive predictably, without BidWERX working for them. That shifts the focus to conversion: tightening what happens between the demo and the signup, so a channel that reliably fills the calendar reliably fills the customer list too.

What BidWERX has now is the thing manual prospecting never gives you: a pipeline motion that runs whether or not anyone on their team touches it.
